Basel week is officially upon us! We want to wish all our friends the best of luck on their projects. Below are some highlights we recommend you check out during the week, from Dec 4th to the 9th:

Miami Beach will host the 11th edition of Art Basel, the must see fair of the week! Galerie Perrotin will be at Booth #G06, exhibiting a selection of works by Daniel Arsham, Hernan Bas, JR, Takashi Murakami, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Peter Zimmermann, among many other big names. The Hole Gallery will be exhibiting at the brand new UNTITLED Art Fair, booth B23, where they will showcase artist Holton Rower in a solo exhibition of new works. The de la Cruz Collection will be presenting a site-specific installation by Jim Drain entitled “Pleat Construction”, as well as Justin H. Long’s “Store Front” installation at the Buena Vista Building. Jen Stark will be exhibiting two brand new holographic paper sculptures presented at Miami’s new art fair, The Miami Project. They will be exhibited at the Cooper Cole Gallery booth (number 719) opening on Dec. 4th. Gallery Diet will be featuring a selection of new works by Bhakti Baxter, Kristopher Benedict, Christy Gast, Richard Höglund, Nicolas Lobo, Emmett Moore, Betty Woodman, and George Woodman, as well as a solo exhibition by Ohad Meromi, entitled “The Working Day”. Nicholas Lobo’s curated show called “Khamsa-izm” will also be exhibiting at Diet during Basel week.
On Tuesday, Dec. 4th, MOCA North Miami will host the Vanity Fair International Party as the opening reception for Bill Viola’s exhibition entitled "Liber Insularum". Another fun party will be the NADA Pool Party on Dec. 8th at the Deauville Hotel on the beach. The exhibition includes a pool installation by Justin H. Long from Funner Projects. Hosts include Naomi Fisher and Jim Drain, among others. OHWOW is exhibiting their fifth and final edition of their group show, "It Ain’t Fair". The exhibition highlights a selection of works from over 30 contemporary artists, including Bert Rodriguez and Daniel Arsham. In addition, OHWOW brings its LA-based pirate station, Know Wave Radio to Basel for a week of live programming to include performances, DJ sets and interviews. Bert Rodriguez will also present a live performance entitled “Everywhere I Look I Only See Myself”, taking place onboard of a cruise ship on Wednesday, Dec. 5th. Design Miami/ will also be exhibiting an outdoor floating environment installation entitled “Drift” by Snarkitecture.
