Light Cave was presented at Dallas Contemporary for Dallas Arts Week from Wednesday, April 8th through Sunday, April 12th 2015.
This is our largest stand-alone sculpture to date and was originally installed at The Plaza at The Standard, High Line in September 2014.
Light Cave is a cathedral of the spirit. This interactive experience is manifested with the purpose of joining people together in a metaphysical sense. The 55 x 25 x 14 ft. semi-translucent inflatable is a living breathing piece of architecture, pulsating with energy and light, creating a sensory rich experience that unifies viewers under its canopy.
As we celebrate the unknown together, each individual will find in the work his or her own unique internal universe while connected through this work to others. Throughout our practice we have noticed and explored the power of collective experiences; we believe having shared physical experiences is an intricate and vital part of sharing and growing collective consciousness.
Light Cave is co-Produced by Art Production Fund and The Standard Hotels. Art Production Fund (APF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to commissioning and producing ambitious public art projects, reaching new audiences and expanding awareness through contemporary art. Co-Founders: Yvonne Force Villareal & Doreen Remen; Director: Casey Fremont.
