If you’re in Miami for Art Basel Miami Beach, please come check out our latest artwork “E.V.A. - Evolved Virtual Archetype" & "It Was All a Dream" at NANZUKA Gallery’s booth #J13 in the Convention Center.. It’s their 20th anniversary exhibition!
"E.V.A. - Evolved Virtual Archetype" is an experiential play in which the viewer becomes the subject and participant. Opening a portal through relational aesthetics, the architect is you and your memory, as time folds in on itself - creating an interplay between our perceived world and the unified field. The architect is present, Venus armed with Venus de Willendorf, and a menagerie of amulets, friends, and foes, gently playing with the tropes of good and evil, light and darkness, humor and apathy all present and activated. It's a call and response to what we are, what we have been, and what we have become, all in play - in a fun, irreverent, view of the macro and micro in the same breath. We invite you to stare into the alter of the timeless and welcome you into yourself, allowing the human mind to be the analog computation of the sacred code… you are the architect, the omnipotent, the innocent child. Everything all at once is this sacred temple of soul.
Our plastiline artwork, "It Was All a Dream”, is a continuation of our Playworks series. This series of works play with the discovery and abstraction of the figure, using the texturally soft and informal medium of plastiline clay. We depict our cartoon heroes, pop culture icons, mass media, and memes that affect us daily. The purpose is to expand our emotional consciousness, connecting us to ourselves and each other. We reach into our psyche and play with those memories that shape who we are. As emotional objects, these new sculptures allow us to reimagine our childhood mythology and the cultural archetypes that have given shape to the language of pop culture. The series offers a reflection of our world in its beauty as well as in its ugly reality.
